Bomburu Ella is truly a gorgeous waterfall. Some peoples called as Perawella Falls and its a collection of 10 little jungle waterfalls. Situated between 1500 and 2000m above sea level in the Kandapola Forest Reserve in Nuwaeliya district. This is one of most amazing waterfall in Sri Lanka. The waterfall is magnificent and you can rest on greeny grass with mountain cool breeze.

Before you start the hike, Don’t forget to have a cup of Plain tea with Hot Roti and get a fresh start to hunting. Form the main road, you can enjoy with a small hike and climb to the Ella. breathtaking views and cool and drizzle will take your tiredness at all.

How to go to Bomburu Ella


Direction :  Colombo -> Kandy -> Nuwaraeliya -> hakgala -> Perawela

Bomburu Ella is not too far form Nuwareliya. However you can chose public transport but it is always not a good options. There are few buses travelling daily form Nuwareliya to Bomburu Ella Village. If you are on a budget go with this option. Otherwise you hire a tuk tuk from the entire journey. It will total cost you around 1500 – 2500LKR.

  • Travel Time: 30 minutes + 2.5 km hike
  • Accommodation: Hotel at Nuwaraeliya (14KM to Nuwaraeliya)
  • Activities: Sightseeing, adventure and hiking
