Chasing Waterfall – Ella Wala Falls
Ella wala is beautiful and small waterfall lying in the wellawaya and accessible from the Ella-Wellawaya Road, Sri Lanka. Elle wala waterfall is a hidden gem inside the jungle about five km from Wellawaya Town, but it not far form main road.
How to get here
Reaching via Ella, travel about 20KM on the Ella-Wellawaya Road to reach the Rathmal Vehera Ancient Temple. Take the road opposite to the temple which will lead to the Ellawaa waterfall.
If your are wish to go there, keep it mind, you have to go rough and not suitable for a vehicle with low ground clearance. Better to come up with a 4×4 vehicle. But walking with nature is the best medium to go there.
Things to know before you go
- It is safe to have a bath in the natural pool.
- Extra cautious specially on rainy days as the water level could go up dramatically
- Keep in mind since the waterfall in located inside the jungle, area is no very populated at all. Thus finding help in an emergency situation will not be easy
