Kalpitiya is one of paradise for Kitesurfing Spot in Sri Lanka. its is future of Sri Lanka tourism. The city of Kalpitiya is located in North western province and consistent of total 14 amazing islands including Baththalangunduwa. It is rich and popular for its oceanic beauty as well as s very famous for wide range of water sports like Kitesurfing, wind surfing, kayaking, jet skiing and dolphin and whales watching.
Things you should know before you go there
- Best season : May to September (kitesurfing season)
November to February (kitesurfing and dolphin watching season) - Where to stay : Find the Hot deals
- The Small town of Kalpitiya is situated about 140KM from the airport (CMB).
- If your coming in group and bring your own material needed for kitesurfing, better to take a private vehicle (Uber) and 3hrs journey and which will cost you about 60 USD.
- if you came alone with small backpacks better to take a tuk tuk and get it into Kalpitiya
- Chipest way to get in there, form airport taking a local bus form Nigambo to Puttam and Kalpitiya. Cost will be 8USD. But it will take more time and difficult with large luggages.
